AI-Powered Materials Seminar Series - May 1

11:00 AM - 1:00 PM / May 01, 2026

The Penn State Institute for Computational and Data Sciences (ICDS) is hosting the AI-Powered Materials Seminar Series, a three-part series that will conclude on Friday, May 1, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Pollock Dining Commons, Room 204. Lunch is provided.

These seminars aim to bring together Penn State faculty, students and staff members with expertise in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) who seek to collaborate on materials research problems.

Penn State faculty members will present different types of materials research problems at each seminar event. The goal of this series is to pair the presenters with at least one collaborator by the end of the series.

Presenters include:

  • Stephanie Law, Quantum Hub associate director, associate professor of materials science and engineering and Wilson Faculty Fellow, presenting "AI-Powered Growth Recipe Optimization."

  • Anthony Richardella, assistant research professor, Materials Characterization Lab, presenting "Usage of LLMs for data analysis and discovery of 2DCC materials data."

Registration is required to attend. Registration can be done via this Google Form.
