HERSHEY, Pa. — An event to bring together faculty at Penn State Harrisburg and Penn State College of Medicine will be held March 4, as the two colleges continue an initiative designed to support interdisciplinary research collaboration through planning and seed grants.
The program, launched last year, is sponsored by Penn State Harrisburg through the Office of Research and Outreach, and Penn State College of Medicine through the Penn State Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI), and the Center for Medical Innovation (CMI).
The Faculty Connect – Hershey + Harrisburg event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on March 4, at the University Conference Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania, and will include over a dozen faculty presentations and networking sessions. Registration for the Faculty Connect is available online.

The event is being offered in conjunction with the Penn State Inter-Campus Health and Medicine Research Program, which provides jointly sponsored seed funding to foster collaboration among researchers from different disciplines and the two colleges to leverage the diverse expertise and resources, and to enhance research capacity and competitiveness in the region.
The Faculty Connect event aims to help foster collaboration among faculty from the two locations and spark partnerships for the next round of planning and seed grant proposals. The first Faculty Connect, held in 2024, brought together more than 100 faculty and researchers from the two colleges to share challenges, research expertise and ideas. Following the event, the first planning and seed grants were awarded to four teams of faculty from the College of Medicine and Penn State Harrisburg.
