UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Seventeen Penn State World Campus students attended the University's Summer Leadership Conference in August and had the opportunity to build connections, develop leadership skills and experience one of Penn State's signature events for student leaders.
The annual Summer Leadership Conference is hosted at one of Penn State’s campuses and brings together students from across the commonwealth. Penn State Berks hosted the 2026 event, and more than 140 students participated in workshops, keynote addresses and team-building activities.
World Campus had two staff members and 17 students attend. For students like Brianna Moyle, the conference was an opportunity to further relationships with her online peers in person.
“When we arrived, it felt like we’ve already known each other for years,” she said.
Moyle is a parent who works in human resources (HR). She said she chose Penn State World Campus to earn a bachelor’s degree in labor and employment relations to further her career. Her favorite part of the conference was the Discovery Groups, where they discussed identity and dignity.
“You get a more intimate look at people’s different perspectives. It gives you more of an open mind and a different lens to look through when you go about dealing with people and their opinions, personalities, and values. I can translate that into my job working within HR,” Moyle said.
