Summer 2025 World Campus graduates receive military honor cords

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State World Campus students received military honor cords at a ceremony held Friday, August 15, to recognize learners who are serving or have served in the armed forces.

Penn State Applied Research Laboratory Executive Director Allan Sonsteby presented the red, white and blue honor cords to graduates. Graduating students can wear these honor cords during commencement ceremonies, including this semester's, which was held on Aug. 16.

The honor cords were first established in 2016 to recognize students who have served, are actively serving, or are commissioned to serve in the U.S. Armed Forces.

The students in attendance were:

  • Eniola Asowo, Army, who is graduating with a master of human resources and employment relations
  • Tyler Corwin, Marine Corps, who is graduating with a master's in strategic management and executive leadership
  • Martin Croft, Navy, who is graduating with a bachelor of science in security and risk analysis
  • Scott Engler, Navy, who is graduating with a master of engineering in nuclear engineering
  • Miguel Espinoza, Army, who is graduating with a master of education in lifelong learning and adult education
  • Tyler Foster, Navy, who is graduating with an associate in science in human development and family studies
  • Reggie Jeter, Navy, who is graduating with a bachelor of science in labor and human resources
  • Wonji Jung, Army, who is graduating with a bachelor of design in digital media and design
  • Jeanette Lage, Air Force, who is graduating with a master of education in curriculum and instruction (children's literature)
  • Jacqueline Lavelanet, Army, who is graduating with a master of education in lifelong learning and adult education
  • Evans Lowe, Army, who is graduating with a master of engineering in systems engineering
  • Daren Metz, Navy, who is graduating with a master of education in learning, design, and technology
  • Juan Montoya, Marine Corps, who is graduating with a bachelor of science in criminal justice
  • Jeremy Mumm, Army, who is graduating with a master of education in lifelong learning and adult education
  • Jasmine Olson, Navy, who is graduating with a bachelor of science in finance
  • Ecerra Paxton, Army, who is graduating with a bachelor of arts in history
  • Maria Pryde, Space Force, who is graduating with a bachelor of science in criminal justice
  • Daniel Schauer, Army, who is graduating with a master of education in lifelong learning and adult education
  • Jacob Smith, Army, who is graduating with a master of education in lifelong learning and adult education
  • Alexander Steele, Navy, who is graduating with a master of engineering management
  • Ryan Summers, Air Force, who is graduating with a master of engineering management
  • Pushpa Upadhyaya, Army, who is graduating with a master of supply chain management
  • Charles Wallace, Navy, who is graduating with a bachelor of science in security and risk analysis
  • Clifford Wilson, Army, who is graduating with an MBA in cybersecurity intelligence leadership
  • Jessie Wolfen, Coast Guard, who is graduating with a bachelor of science in psychology
