Scenes from the spring 2026 Military Honor Cord ceremony

Penn State World Campus students were among those recognized by Penn State leadership

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State World Campus students received military honor cords on Thursday, May 7, at a ceremony that recognizes learners who are serving or have served in the U.S. armed forces.

Graduates received their honor cords from Fotis Sotiropoulos, Penn State’s provost and executive vice president.

“At Penn State, we are fortunate to count military-connected students among our most dedicated, resilient, and service-minded scholars,” Sotiropoulos said. “You’ve demonstrated remarkable commitment, leadership, and discipline — qualities that have strengthened our community and inspired those around you.”

This is the 10th year Penn State has recognized graduates who have served, are actively serving, or are commissioned to serve in the U.S. Armed Forces with honor cords.
