Homeland Security: Past and Future Conference

In an era of increasing instability, the Penn State Homeland Security Programs are inviting students to attend a virtual conference Oct. 22-23 discussing the past 25 years of homeland security research and practice. The conference will feature multiple speakers discussing topics including the evolving terrorist threat and what this means for counter-terrorism, the growing threat of cyberattacks, emergency management preparedness, public health preparedness challenges, and inter-agency cooperation. Organizers hope to identify lessons learned from previous crises and explore how they may apply to future challenges, develop new research agendas, and foster new synergies and collaborations between practitioners and academics.

The conference is free for Penn State and Immaculata University students. However, students should still register online. Registration is $40 for the general public. Registration closes on Oct. 21.
