UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State University Police and Public Safety (UPPS) at University Park will host its annual Safety Fair from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 30, in front of and inside the HUB-Robeson Center on Pollock Road.

Attendees will have the opportunity to win prizes for completing an event passport, learn about the 100-year history of the department, explore emergency vehicles on display and learn more about available safety resources.

The event will feature University Police and Public Safety units, including Bike Patrol, Community-Oriented Policing, Criminal Investigations/Drone, the Hazardous Device Team, K9, Student Auxiliary Officers, the Behavioral Threat Management Team, Emergency Management, Environmental Health and Safety, Clery, Physical Security, Recruitment and DEI. Several campus and community partners also are expected to participate, including Alpha Fire, the Centre County Mobile Command Unit and Transportation Services.

To Wesley Sheets, associate vice president and chief of police and public safety, the Safety Fair reflects UPPS’s ongoing commitment to prevention, preparedness and meaningful community connection.

“Safety is strongest when our community knows the people, resources and partnerships available to support them,” Sheets said. “This event gives students, employees and community members a chance to meet our teams, ask questions and learn practical steps they can take to help keep themselves and others safe.”

UPPS human resources partners and student auxiliary officers also will be available to share information about the department’s work, its role within the University, and current police officer and student auxiliary officer opportunities.
