UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State University Police and Public Safety (UPPS) at University Park will host its annual Safety Fair from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 24, in front of the HUB-Robeson Center on Pollock Road.
The event will feature University Police and its various specialized units, including the Bomb and K9 units, Criminal Investigations, the Tactical Response Team, Drone Unit and more, as well as the department’s Emergency Management, Physical Security, and Environmental Health and Safety units and several University and local emergency response partners.
Attendees will have the opportunity to explore emergency vehicles on display, learn more about pedestrian and traffic safety on campus, and interact with outside local first responder groups.
According to Wesley Sheets, associate vice president and chief of police and public safety, the annual UPPS annual Safety Fair provides a valuable opportunity to interact directly with University Park police officers, administrators and staff.
“This event not only emphasizes the significance of maintaining safety and security in our Penn State communities but also informs our community about the many safety programs and resources our department offers," Sheets said.
Additionally, UPPS’s human resources partners and student auxiliary officers will be available to share information about the department’s work, its critical role within the University, and details on current open police officer and student auxiliary officer positions.
