UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State Transportation Services has announced its spring 2026 event schedule for the Bike Den, including a variety of workshops and clinics.
Located on the ground floor of the West Deck, the Bike Den is a community-focused space that provides resources and support for biking, including DIY bike repair, bike clinics, workshops, and other educational opportunities. Regular hours are Monday through Saturday from noon to 6 p.m., and all Bike Den services and activities are free and available to students, faculty and staff, as well as local community members that are 18 years and older.

Wet Weather Biking 101 Workshop
Thursday, March 19 (6:15 – 7:15 p.m.)
Workshop instructors will share tips to keep cyclists safe and bikes in working order during seasonal rain. As this is an indoor, classroom-style workshop, a bicycle will not be required for participation.
Wheel Building Clinic
Wednesday, April 1 (6:15 - 8:15 p.m.)
Participants in this clinic will assemble a bicycle wheel from scratch. Spokes, hubs and rims will be provided, or participants can bring their own.
Wheel Truing Clinic
Wednesday, April 15 (6:15 - 8:15 p.m.)
Participants in this clinic will learn how to true a wheel by adjusting spoke tension to correct lateral, radial, centering and overall tension issues.
Brake Clinic
Tuesday, April 28 (6:15 – 8:15 p.m.)
This clinic will teach participants how to identify, install and adjust various bicycle brake calipers (and their corresponding levers), including disc (cable and hydraulic), side pull, cantilever and V-brakes. Several examples will be presented, and participants are encouraged to bring their own bikes for maintenance.
