UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Due to THON 2025 and other events taking place at the Bryce Jordan Center, Pegula Ice Arena and other nearby venues at University Park this weekend, the following parking and traffic adjustments will be in effect Friday through Sunday, Feb. 21-23:

THON visitor parking

General visitor parking for THON will be available at the Stadium West, Jordan East and Porter North lots from Friday through Sunday.

With these areas expected to reach capacity at various times this weekend, it is paramount that all vehicles be parked within all lines of a legal space to allow maximum access. Due to heavy vehicle and pedestrian traffic, motorists are urged to use caution if traveling near the Bryce Jordan Center, and those attending THON are encouraged to walk, bike or use transit in lieu of driving.

Orange L East and South lots, Yellow V and Jordan East

The Orange L lot located just east of the Bryce Jordan Center, the Orange L lot located south of the Bryce Jordan Center, and a small section in the middle of the main Jordan East lot will be reserved from Friday through Sunday for THON families.

The parking spaces along the drive lane of the Yellow V lot will be closed all day Friday, Feb. 21.

The small Jordan East lot across from the All-Sports Museum will be reserved for ADA parking from Friday through Sunday.

Silver J

Parking will remain open to permit holders, but please be aware that THON dancer drop-off will occur in lot Silver J. Traffic will be heavy in this lot and at the Hastings Road/Bigler Road intersection area from 2:45 to 4:15 p.m. Friday.

Traffic restrictions

With THON and numerous other events taking place on the east side of campus this weekend, heavy traffic and delays are expected. Drivers are encouraged to avoid this area, if possible, and those attending THON are encouraged to walk, bike or use transit in lieu of driving.

The following roadways will be temporarily closed on Friday for dancer arrival:

  • Curtin Road from University Drive to Porter Road will be closed from approximately 2-7 p.m. Note: All traffic must enter and exit Jordan East from Porter Road or University Drive via Dauer Drive.

  • University Drive from Hastings Road to Curtin Road will be closed from 4:15-4:30 p.m.

Transit impacts

The Centre Area Transportation Authority (CATA) will operate on its normal weekend schedule during THON, but delays are possible, especially when temporary road closures are in effect. The campus Blue Loop, White Loop and Red Link are free to all riders, while community service routes require a fare.

The no-fare Campus Shuttle will operate on its normal service schedule on Friday, but delays are possible during THON road closures.

Athletic events

The following Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics events also will take place during THON weekend, and with heavy traffic expected, attendees should expect delays and allow extra time for arrival and departure:

  • All day – Track and Field at the Indoor Multisport Facility

  • 7 p.m. – Wrestling vs. American University at Rec Hall

Saturday, Feb. 22
