UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Teaching and Learning with Technology, part of Penn State University Libraries, will again host its virtual "Symposium Lite," returning 1–4 p.m. on Thursday, March 26, the week after the in-person 2026 TLT Symposium.
The half-day event will feature four faculty presentations followed by facilitated discussions with the presenters. The presentations will be a mix of new material and highlighted presentations from the TLT Symposium, allowing participants to continue exploring how technology can enhance teaching and learning.
“Symposium Lite extends the energy and innovation of our in-person event to an online audience. This virtual gathering offers insightful presentations and dynamic discussions, ensuring that you can connect, learn and explore new ideas from anywhere,” said TLT Senior Director Crystal Ramsay.
Symposium Lite registration is now open.
The sessions include:
- 1–1:45 p.m.: “Beyond Compliance: Digital Accessibility Literacy as a Pedagogical Strategy,” presented by Tiffany Petricini, associate teaching professor of communication, Penn State Behrend; Russell Martin, assistant teaching professor of computer science and software engineering; Sarah Zipf, research project manager, TLT; and Lee Ann Dickerson, instructional designer, Penn State Behrend.
- 1:45–2:30 p.m.: "Integrating Generative AI, Perusall and Kaltura in Experiential Learning Assignments,” presented by David Dieteman, associate teaching professor of management, business & management and international business programs and Kimberly Wick, instructional designer, Penn State Behrend.
- 2:30–3:15 p.m.: “Teaching the Foundations of the Design of Data Visualization with ChatGPT,” presented by Benjamin Lear, professor of chemistry, and Morgan Vincent, chemistry graduate student, Penn State University Park.
- 3:15–4 p.m.: “Course Accessibility: One Step at a Time,” presented by Elizabeth Pyatt, IT accessibility consultant and Philip Vorhees, manager of the IT accessibility team.
