UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Students new to the University Park campus are encouraged to mark their calendars to join Penn State University Libraries' annual spring Open House, which will be held from noon to 5 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, Jan. 21-22, in Pattee Library and Paterno Library. A snow makeup date is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 23, if necessary.
To complete the self-guided Open House tour, students are required to check in at each tour stop and engage with brief activities or presentations that offer an overview of the Libraries’ academic, research and leisure resources and services. The full tour includes 7 “selfie” stops throughout Pattee and Paterno Libraries. Stops include:
- Understanding primary sources
- Find your subject expert
- Get creative!
- Get help
- Read a call number
- Read for fun
- Start your research
Students who complete all stops will receive a free Penn State University Libraries embroidered beanie hat, while supplies last, and an emailed certificate of completion to share with instructors. University Libraries administrators, faculty and staff volunteer at the two-day event to help students learn more about on-site and online resources available to students, and answer questions about Penn State University Libraries.
