UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Teaching and Learning with Technology, part of Penn State University Libraries, supports and celebrates Penn State technology-forward faculty with the 2027 Teaching and Learning with Technology Impact Award, now in its 10th year and with an increased monetary prize. Nominations for the award are now being accepted.
Given annually, the award celebrates the accomplishments of a faculty member whose work transforms education through the use of technology, over an extended period of time, and influences more than one specific academic area. The award seeks to recognize an individual Penn State faculty member who has a demonstrated history of developing projects, courses, collaborations or scholarship with innovative educational or instructional technology. Of particular interest are projects that have the potential to significantly improve teaching, learning and scholarship at Penn State and beyond.
Nominations for the 2027 Teaching and Learning with Technology Impact Award are open through Friday, Oct. 16. All full-time Penn State faculty — tenure track or non-tenure track, term or no term and teaching faculty — are eligible for nomination. University faculty, staff and students should submit award nominations. Self-nominations also are welcome and encouraged. The Teaching and Learning with Technology Impact Award is a recognized undergraduate teaching award and includes a $5,000 cash award, a commemorative medal and additional support to increase the reach and impact of the recipient’s work.
Lee Ahern, an associate professor of advertising/public relations in the Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications, is the recipient of the 2026 Teaching and Learning with Technology Impact Award.
More information and prior years’ recipients can be viewed on the Teaching and Learning with Technology Impact Award’s webpage. Questions about the award or process may be directed to tltaward@psu.edu.
