UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State’s Student Technology Advisory Representatives (STAR) group is welcoming new members. The STAR committee, sponsored by Teaching and Learning with Technology (TLT) unit, brings together students from University Park, Commonwealth Campuses and Penn State World Campus to help shape technology decisions that impact the student experience.
Undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to apply. Members provide vital feedback on technology initiatives that impact both them and their peers. No tech expertise is required, and all perspectives are welcome. STAR meets four times a semester in synchronous hybrid Zoom meetings.
Applications are being accepted until Sept. 11.
This semester, STAR is reimagining how it creates meaningful experiences for its members. Under the leadership of TLT staff members Emily Sikora and Jen Wright, students will have the opportunity to grow personally and professionally. Students can expect hands-on growth in technology integration, leadership and other skills that can be shared on a resume and translate directly to career readiness.
After applying, interested students will attend an informal 20-minute Zoom interview with STAR co-leads to discuss membership and answer any questions. Faculty and staff are invited to share this opportunity with students and encourage them to apply before the Sept. 11 deadline.
