Library Discovery Hour Sept. 17 highlights Penn State University Press

Penn State University Press executive director to highlight 70 years of high-quality scholarship and knowledge promotion

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State University Libraries’ September Library Discovery Hour will present an overview of Penn State University Press and its 70 years of publishing humanities and social sciences scholarship during an evening presentation Sept. 17.

“Inside Penn State University Press: Disseminating Knowledge Since 1956” will be held 5-6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, during a hybrid presentation hosted in person and online via Zoom.

Attendees will receive an inside look at Penn State University Press with Executive Director David Aycock and learn how the Press publishes high-quality scholarship, promotes knowledge across the humanities and social sciences, and supports the University and Pennsylvania communities through books, journals and innovative publishing initiatives.

Registration for the event is required. Additional details for attendance will be shared following registration.

Library Discovery Hour is an event series hosted by the University Libraries’ Development and Alumni Relations team to provide an inside look at today’s Penn State University Libraries and its key priorities of Community, Commons and Collections.

Attendees of Library Discovery Hour hear from University Libraries experts as well as students who benefit from the Libraries’ resources, services and initiatives, while also offering attendees an opportunity to connect with other passionate Penn Staters and learn how philanthropy impacts the University and scholarly research communities.
