UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The University Committee on the Assessment of Learning (UCAL) invites applications from degree-seeking undergraduate and graduate students to serve as members for the upcoming academic year. This committee plays a key role in shaping Penn State’s university-wide assessment practices and supporting the continuous improvement of student learning.

Students interested in making their voices heard and effectively supporting student learning across the University should apply by submitting the UCAL student interest form. The application deadline is Sept. 21.

Members of UCAL have the opportunity to contribute to students’ academic experience at Penn State by:

  • Contributing to University-wide discussions on assessing student learning
  • Reviewing and providing feedback on assessment practices and initiatives

Members also have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in higher education governance and learning assessment.

UCAL meets monthly via Zoom and gives student members the opportunity to network with University faculty and administrators outside of their majors. For more information about UCAL and its work, visit the UCAL website or reach out to assessment@psu.edu.
