Events slated for National Transfer Student Week Oct. 20-24

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State will mark National Transfer Student Week in October with events for students who are interested in transferring to Penn State, and for current Penn State students who are considering or have already transitioned to University Park from a Commonwealth Campus. Undergraduate Admissions Office and Student Orientation and Transition Programs will hold events throughout the week from Oct. 20-24. 

“With over 3,000 transfer students at Penn State, I’m thrilled for this year’s programming,” said Lindsay Bolt, assistant director for transfer admission. “We’re looking forward to celebrating our current transfer students and warmly welcoming those exploring the possibility of joining our community.” 

The schedule includes: 

  • Abington admissions session and tour: Monday, Oct. 20, from 4:45 to 7 p.m., Penn State Abington. 
  • “Donut Forget Where You Belong:” Monday, Oct. 20, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., Bank of America Building patio, free donuts for transfer and change-of-campus students from Student Orientation and Transition Programs. 
  • Virtual admissions session: Tuesday, Oct. 21, from 7 to 8 p.m., online. 
  • University Park Campus admissions event: Friday, Oct. 24, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., University Park. The program includes a presentation, lunch and opportunities to meet with staff, students and academic college representatives. 
  • Hazleton admissions session: Saturday, Oct. 25, at 9 a.m., Penn State Hazleton. 

In addition, students can schedule virtual appointments with admissions counselors at Penn State Berks, Penn State Schuylkill, University Park and Penn State World Campus to discuss transfer pathways, degree options and personal goals.
