UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — As the end of the semester approaches, the Penn State Chaiken Center for Student Success is introducing a new opportunity to help students at the University Park campus stay focused and finish strong. The “Plan Your Pomo” series, led by peer success coaches, offers a structured and supportive environment for students to tackle their study goals ahead of finals.

Each “Plan Your Pomo” session is based on the popular Pomodoro Technique, a time management strategy that breaks work into focused 25-minute intervals followed by short breaks. During each event, a peer success coach will guide participants through goal setting, help them organize their study plan, and facilitate three Pomodoro cycles designed to maximize concentration and productivity.

“These sessions are perfect for students who want to make progress on their work but need a little structure and accountability,” said Kayla Hood, student success advocate with the Penn State Chaiken Center for Student Success. “It’s a great way to study alongside others, take intentional breaks, and leave feeling accomplished.”

Plan Your Pomo sessions will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. on the following dates:

  • Tuesday, Nov. 18, 220A Boucke Building
  • Wednesday, Nov. 19, 220A Boucke Building
  • Thursday, Nov. 20, 220A Boucke Building
  • Tuesday, Dec. 2, Dewey Room, Pattee Library
  • Wednesday, Dec. 3, Dewey Room, Pattee Library
  • Thursday, Dec. 4, Dewey Room, Pattee Library

Advanced registration is requested but not required. Students are encouraged to register on the Discover platform, bring their coursework, and make the most of these focused study sessions before finals week.
