UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Sokolov-Miller Family Financial and Life Skills Center will hold a public webinar on Oct. 21, Credit Scores and Reports. Pittsburgh National Corporation (PNC) is Penn State’s official consumer banking partner, and a speaker from PNC will be presenting. This workshop isopen to students, staff, and the community, and aims to help attendees feel confident in creating positive money management choices and create a solid fiscal foundation.

Credit Scores and Reports: Noon-1 p.m., Oct. 21.
Providing essential learning information on the factors that determine credit scores and how to request and make sense of it. Your credit score is a snapshot of your financial habits and affects the ability to get credit cards, car loans, cell service, apartment rentals, and other financial guards. There will be an added discussion on how to improve your credit score and how to distinguish scams from legitimate vendors when looking for help with credit issues.

The Sokolov-Miller Family Financial and Life Skills Center's mission is to provide students and the Penn State community with the ability to use knowledge and skills to manage financial resources effectively for a lifetime of financial well-being. Over 400 appointments were made in 2024 with the Center’s financial counselors and/or trained student ambassadors, to discuss initiatives outlined within its five-principles; earning, saving and investing, spending, borrowing, and protecting.
