Six Penn State club sports teams win national championships

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State Campus Recreation has announced that six of its club sports teams earned national championships during the 2024-25 academic year, showcasing the dedication, talent and leadership of its student-athletes.

The club cricket, club cycling, club gymnastics, club track and field, men’s club baseball and men's club basketball teams each brought home national titles this season.

"These accomplishments reflect the strength of Penn State's club sports community, as well as the dedication of students who work hard to balance competitive training with academic excellence," said Steve Kampf, senior director of Campus Recreation. "The championships are a testament to the impact of student-led sports on our campus, offering meaningful opportunities for leadership development, personal growth and competitive achievement."

According to Kampf, the resources provided by the University Park Fee Board play a critical role in enhancing programming for more than 55 club sports and over 2,000 students annually.

"Thanks to this support, club sports teams continue to thrive, providing dynamic engagement opportunities and enriching the overall student experience at Penn State," Kampf said.
