UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — As election season approaches, Penn State is reminding students, faculty and staff that Penn State Votes is the University’s trusted, nonpartisan resource for voter information and registration.
While third-party voter registration efforts may appear convenient, they are not always reliable. Students are encouraged to exercise caution when asked to share personal information and to instead rely on Penn State Votes for accurate, secure and up-to-date election resources.
Penn State Votes was created specifically to serve the University community by providing comprehensive voter information, including how to register, important deadlines and answers to frequently asked questions. All resources are vetted, trustworthy and designed to support informed civic engagement.
The University advises students to avoid registering through unverified third-party platforms, as doing so may create privacy risks. The safest methods for registration are through official state voter registration websites or by completing a paper form, available at 103 HUB-Robeson Center. Penn State Votes offers step-by-step instructions to help students register safely and confidently.
Faculty and staff are also encouraged to review the guidelines and resources available on how to support student voting activity appropriately. Policies, training modules and a digital asset library for integration into Canvas courses can be accessed through psuvotes.psu.edu.
