UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Members of the Penn State community looking to enhance their learning experiences, professional profiles, and networking skills are invited to attend LinkedIn Learning Day, a series of interactive workshops on Tuesday, Feb. 11.
LinkedIn Learning Day, hosted by Career Services, a unit in the division of Student Affairs; IT Learning and Development; and Teaching and Learning with Technology, part of University Libraries, offers attendees a unique opportunity to receive expert guidance on how to maximize the LinkedIn Learning platform and utilize available features in a variety of formats.
LinkedIn Learning Day is open to all faculty, staff and students. While in-person attendance is strongly encouraged, virtual options will be available to those who register in advance.
LinkedIn for faculty and staff session
Faculty and staff interested in exploring how LinkedIn Learning can support their work and learning can register to attend a session on ‘Leveraging LinkedIn Learning for Career Development’ from 9-10:30 a.m. in the Dreamery, located on the ground floor of the Shields Building.
Attendees will learn how to identify and locate content to build their skills in specific areas. Faculty also will learn how to supplement courses with LinkedIn Learning content by integrating directly to Canvas.

Discover hidden features, navigational tips, and strategies to maximize using LinkedIn Learning.

Leverage career development tools, certification preparation courses, and personalized career pathways to support professional development.

Listen to faculty testimonials on incorporating LinkedIn Learning into teaching practices and engaging students in the classroom.

Identify training and best practices to help students build background knowledge for courses and strengthen course concepts.
Interested faculty and staff can register in advance for the event through the Learning Resource Network.
LinkedIn for students session
Students can sign-up to participate in an interactive workshop from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Bank of America Career Services Building. Students will have a unique opportunity to develop job-ready skills, improve their profiles, and increase their visibility to recruiters and employers. Attendees will learn how to build a strong personal brand, expand their professional networks, and use LinkedIn’s advanced features to stand out in competitive job markets.
The event beings with a workshop session from 1 to 2 p.m., facilitated by Penn State’s designated LinkedIn representative. The facilitator will guide students through key features and strategies for using the LinkedIn platform. From 2 to 2:30 p.m., participants can ask questions, and from 2:30 to 4 p.m., attendees will have dedicated time to work on their LinkedIn profiles in real time with support from experts.

Students are encouraged to register in advance for the event online.
As an incentive, the first 20 students to register will be entered into a Vera Bradley raffle, with two winners announced at the end of the workshop. Walk-ins also will be welcome on the day of the event. Light refreshments will be served.
