UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — "Icons for Sagacity," a retrospective exhibition by glass artist Anna Boothe, will be on view in the HUB-Robeson Galleries exhibition cases from June 28 through Nov. 30.

Boothe’s work is inspired by archaic cultures and their rites of passage, creating icons out of cast glass and found objects referring to the female form or aspects of herself. Her own curiosity led her to the ancient glass process “pâte de verre," a French glass-casting technique meaning "paste of glass,” which highlights Boothe’s artistic trajectory over the past 40-plus years.

The artist states that her work comes from a threshold space hovering between dreaming and reality. She defines “sagacity” as something learned in that space, which ultimately manifests as objects or “icons” that document her journey.

Located in the HUB-Robeson Center on Penn State's University Park campus, the HUB-Robeson Galleries are open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is free for all, always.
