UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State Prime is hosting its 10th Annual Prime Branding Panel with industry experts and a distinguished alumni moderator for students interested in marketing, branding and consumer trends.
The event will take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, in the Dr. Keiko Miwa Ross Atrium in the Business Building, with a reception to follow.
The panel will include Penn State alumni who work across the marketing industry to discuss brand trends over the past 10 years and answer questions from the students in attendance.
“To mark the 10-year anniversary, we are bringing back past panelists and participants for a mini-reunion," said Jennifer Chang Coupland, Penn State Prime’s faculty adviser and a clinical professor of marketing. "It’s a unique opportunity to talk about how branding has evolved over the past decade, and to celebrate those who’ve helped shape the event into what it is today."
The panelists include:
- Nick Bayer, CEO and founder of Saxbys
- Adam Closkey, vice president of marketing at Red Bull
- Angel Grant, assistant vice president, head of programmatic media at L’Oreal
- Michelle Harmon-Madsen, chief marketing officer at SponsorUnited
Along with the panelists, Timmy Garde, chief growth officer of Ardelis and a Smeal alumnus, has worked closely with Prime over the years and will be moderating the event.
Penn State Prime is both a student organization and course that aims to create opportunities and build a network for students interested in brand management, advertising and consumer insights.
Federica Roo, a marketing student in the Smeal College of Business, has been the president of Prime since January and a member since 2023.
"The Branding Panel has been Prime's biggest tradition year over year, and we are so excited that this year we get to do it in person for the benefit of the Smeal community,” Roo said. “We can't wait to learn from professionals about the past, present and future of the marketing world.”
