Five new members elected to Penn State Smeal Alumni Society Board

New president Erin O’Leary, president-elect Cynthia Andrews and new members started terms on July 1

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. –– Penn State Smeal College of Business Director of Alumni Relations Jennifer Crispell has announced that five new members of the college’s Alumni Society Board began their terms on July 1, as well as a new president and a new president-elect.

Erin O’Leary, founder of Pegasus Capital, who earned an MBA from Smeal in 1996, is the board’s new president.

Cynthia Andrews, president and CEO of the Community Foundation of Lorain County (Ohio), earned a bachelor’s in marketing from Smeal in 1983 and an MBA in 1985. Andrews is the new president-elect.

The mission of the Smeal Alumni Society Board is to provide opportunities for networking, volunteerism and lifelong engagement to its diverse alumni community. Crispell said the new leadership and five new directors will help fulfill that mission.

“I am very excited to welcome these five new directors as they begin their terms, and also to celebrate the start of a new chapter in leadership with our incoming president and president-elect,” she said. “The board is poised to build on our strong foundation and lead our diverse alumni community into a future full of connection and opportunity."

Serving under the leadership of O’Leary and Andrews, and joining the other seated members, will be:

  • Lindsey Grillot, a 2015 supply chain and information systems graduate who is senior director of partnerships at Pie.
  • Karen Morris, a 1986 accounting graduate who is retired from PPG Industries.
  • Kelly Palumbo, a 1996 accounting graduate who is corporate vice president of finance and corporate controller at Charles River Laboratories.
  • Eric Vishnevetsky, a 2015 finance graduate who is a senior wealth strategy associate with UBS.
  • Don Ziter, a 1981 management graduate who is a managing partner at DLZ Properties LLC.
