Penn State Smeal’s CSCR to host open house and AI Special Interest Collective

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Penn State Smeal College of Business Center for Supply Chain Research will be hosting the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Special Interest Collective from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Nov. 11 in the Eric J. Barron Innovation Hub in State College.

The AI Special Interest Collective is designed to bring together academic and industry leaders to explore and advance the use of AI in supply chains.

Attendees will have the opportunity to:

  • Connect with supply chain executives, researchers and thought leaders.

  • Explore emerging AI applications and challenges through collaborative dialogue.

  • Contribute to shaping key outcomes such as an annual benchmarking survey, white papers, publications and future research development.

This program represents a unique platform for accelerating the responsible and effective integration of AI into supply chain strategy and practice.

Industry leaders who are scheduled to speak include:

  • Dan Ives, global head of technology research with Wedbush Securities

  • Eric Peters, CEO of Procurant

  • Nilay Parikh, founder and CEO of Arvist

  • Aaron Hatfield, sales director, Arvist

  • Isaac Winnes, chief of staff of GenLogs

  • Chris Kobus, chief revenue officer, GenLogs

  • Richard Sharpe, CEO of Competitive Insights

Notable researchers from Penn State Smeal are scheduled to speak, as well, including:

  • Kevin Linderman, John J. Coyle Endowed Professor and chair of the Department of Supply Chain and Information systems

  • Akhil Kumar, professor of supply chain and information systems

  • Wael Jabr, assistant professor of supply chain and information systems

Donna Palumbo, the executive director of CSCR, will host a CSCR open house and reception from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Nov. 10 in 488 Business Building.
