Scranton student leaders, organizations honored at annual recognition dinner

DUNMORE, Pa. – Penn State Scranton celebrated the achievements of its student leaders, clubs and organizations at its annual Student Recognition Dinner, honoring students for their leadership, engagement and service to the campus community. The event highlighted accomplishments in academics, student leadership, service and campus involvement.

Student Awards and Honorees

  • Gavan Quimby received the Eric A. and Josephine S. Walker Award, which is given to the student who has most improved the reputation of the University through extracurricular activities.
  • Zamarra Vrabel received the Patrick J. Rose Award for Excellence in Student Leadership and Service, which recognizes students who have excelled in leadership and service to the campus community.
  • Thomas Milutinovic received the Tabatabaie Family Math and Science Award, recognizing academic excellence and dedication to scholarly achievement in math and science.
  • Cora Sisk received the Penn State Alumni Association Greater Scranton Chapter’s Pride of the Lions Award, which honors a student whose leadership, scholarship, citizenship and character have positively influenced fellow students.

Faculty awards were given to honor faculty members who have gone above and beyond in supporting student organizations, fostering leadership and contributing to a vibrant campus community. This year's recipients were: Bella Provenzano and Fred Aebli.

Staff Awards recognized staff members whose dedication, support and commitment have significantly enhanced the student experience and strengthened campus life. This year, awards were given to: Jordan Fritz and Carrie Orlofski.
