SCHUYLKILL HAVEN, Pa. — Penn State Schuylkill will host two separate commencement ceremonies this spring to accommodate its growing number of graduates and their guests.
Graduates from the nursing and radiological sciences programs will be recognized during a ceremony at 7 p.m. Friday, May 8, in the campus gymnasium. All other majors will participate in a second commencement ceremony at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 9, also in the gymnasium.
Chancellor Cory Scherer said the decision to hold two ceremonies reflects the continued growth of Penn State Schuylkill’s graduating classes and the campus’ commitment to celebrating students alongside their loved ones.
“As our graduating classes continue to grow, we made the decision to host two ceremonies so our students can invite as many family members and friends as they would like without feeling restricted,” Scherer said. “Commencement is a milestone moment, and we want it to be a meaningful and inclusive celebration for everyone involved.”
Both commencement ceremonies will be livestreamed for those unable to attend in person. Links to the livestreams will be shared on Penn State Schuylkill’s social media channels as the ceremony dates approach.
Additional details and updates regarding commencement will also be communicated through campus channels in the coming weeks.
