UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Penn State Schreyer Honors College has welcomed Wendy Hanna-Rose, Mary High and Zoubeida Ounaies as its third cohort of faculty fellows.

“Each cohort of faculty fellows has made an impact on Schreyer Honors College,” said Schreyer Dean Patrick Mather. “I look forward to seeing how our third cohort will approach their fellowship and help our Scholars.”

Faculty fellows work closely with the Honors College staff to study, innovate and enhance the honors education experience at Penn State. The faculty fellows will serve for the 2025-26 term, and will complete a project for Schreyer Honors College.

Wendy Hanna-Rose is a professor of biochemistry and molecular biology in Eberly College of Science. She runs a lab where she focuses on cellular metabolic networks in animals. As faculty fellow, she will focus on helping students set and meet their personal and professional goals.

Mary High is a teaching professor of communication arts and sciences in the College of the Liberal Arts. She teaches courses about public speaking, rhetoric and more. She is also an honors adviser for the department. As a faculty fellow, she plans to help develop resources for both faculty and Scholars to enhance honors option projects.

Zoubedia Ounaies is a professor in the College of Engineering where she focuses on combinations of mechanical-electrical-chemical coupling in polymers. During her fellowship, she plans to help Schreyer develop its research abroad program using her experience creating partnerships with universities abroad.
