UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Four Schreyer Honors College Scholars have received student awards for the 2025-26 school year. These Scholars are leaders who are serving their communities and making an impact.
The Scholar awards and their recipients are:
Future Leaders Scholarship
The Future Leaders Scholarship was established in 2018 by the Scholar Alumni Society Board to recognize Scholars who demonstrate outstanding leadership in the honors college and Penn State community.
Michael Carroll is a fourth- year finance and accounting major who serves as a co-executive director on the Schreyer Honors College Scholar Ambassadors, where he works to create programming for prospective students.
Danielle Richard is a third year Scholar majoring in global and international studies. She has completed an internship at InterAction, and works for the Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity at Penn State where she plans programs for LGBTQ+ students.
Carroll and Richard will be honored at the spring Scholar Alumni Society Board meeting.
Scholar Involvement Award
The Scholar Involvement Award honors students who demonstrate excellence in the college’s overall mission of building global perspectives, creating opportunities for civic leadership and engagement, and demonstrating academic excellence with integrity.
Amanda Sargen is a fourth-year Scholar majoring in mechanical engineering. She serves as a student leader for the New Scholar Experience in Schreyer. She mentors other peer educators and co-leads the Schreyer Honors Orientation communications team. Sargen also participated in the Schreyer Maymester study abroad program to Cambodia.
Emmanuel Kraft is a fourth- year Scholar studying public policy, communications arts and sciences, and political science. Kraft is a member of the Schreyer Honors Orientation programs team. He is also the founder and president of Global Brigades Legal Empowerment, which provides legal services to people in Greece and Honduras.
Sargen and Kraft will be honored at the senior awards lunch in May.
