UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Thanksgiving inspires gratitude for an abundant harvest and the cultural food traditions that honor it. But behind every bite of stuffing is a wealth of people who have worked hard to ensure everyone has a seat at the table.
From 12:15 to 1 p.m. on Nov. 18, Sustain Penn State will host four alumni who are making the world better through food systems, whether in agriculture, supply chain management, food preparation or nutrition.
They will offer guidance and expertise to current Penn State students curious about how they got where they are and what their day-to-day is like. Students will have the opportunity to learn how to make the most of their time at Penn State to set them up for the best possible career trajectory.
Scheduled speakers include:
- Rachel Vanlandingham, R&D External Strategy at PepsiCo
- Eric Rosenbaum, owner and senior agronomist at Rosetree Consulting LLC
- Rachel Hoh, director of Double Up Food Bucks Michigan program at Fair Food Network
- Jessica Chou, programs director at Greener Partners
This virtual event is free and open to all, and attendees can register at this link.
This is the third in a series of three fall sustainability career webinars offered by Sustain Penn State. The conversations are designed to help Penn State students envision sustainability career paths and meet alumni working in a variety of sustainability careers. All webinars are free and open to all, and aimed at students early in their career exploration who want to learn more about what is possible.
“The career webinars have served as a bridge between Penn State alumni and students to show them what a career in sustainability looks like at different stages,” said Evelyn Wu, sustainability career and alumni programming intern for Sustain Penn State. “They have contributed to student success on all campuses by giving all Penn State students direct access to successful alumni.”
