WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Total enrollment at Pennsylvania College of Technology for Fall 2025 is 4,705 students – a 2.8% increase over Fall 2024 and a 9.2% increase over Fall 2023.
New student enrollment for Fall 2025 – which includes incoming undergraduate, graduate and nondegree students (new, transfer and re-enroll) is 1,781 – a 2.1% bump over a similarly strong incoming class in Fall 2024.
The college posted the increases despite the lingering impact on enrollment from the COVID-19 pandemic in the class cohorts from 2020-23 and the “demographic cliff,” a decrease in the number of high school graduates in Pennsylvania and the Northeast U.S.
“Penn College is not immune to the challenges and complexities facing higher education, but we are positioned better than most,” said President Michael J. Reed. “Consistent enrollment growth demonstrates that our commitment to applied technology education is in high demand. Industry desperately needs our graduates, as evidenced by our 98% overall placement rate. And our students aren’t just placed. Most secure futures in high-earning and high-growth fields. Our recent four top-five rankings from U.S. News & World Report offer further testimony to the value of a Penn College education and to the talented team committed to the institution’s continued success.”
Penn College is ranked the No. 1 school for innovation for the third consecutive year, No. 1 for veteran students for the second straight year and the No. 3 public school in the Regional Colleges (North) classification by U.S. News & World Report. The college also moved from No. 5 in 2025 to the No. 4 school in 2026 among Regional Colleges (North) when all public and private colleges and universities are considered.
“The enrollment growth trend is a strong indicator of the value of a Penn College education. Our students and their families understand that completion of a Penn College degree means a successful foundation for their future as an indispensable member of our nation’s workforce,” said Anthony J. Pace, vice president for enrollment and academic operations.
In addition to rising enrollment, the college posted first year fall-to-fall retention rate increases. The retention rate went from 73% to 76% for associate degree-seeking students and 76% to 81% for students enrolled in a bachelor’s degree.
“We believe the significant increase in retention rates speaks to the support students receive while pursuing their degrees here at Penn College,” Pace said. “From faculty who go the extra mile in ensuring content mastery to staff who work tirelessly to address the spectrum of needs facing today’s college students, we are proud of our community of support.”
