Community members gathered to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Shaver’s Creek Environmental Center in May as the site recently reopened following a multi-month improvement project. The center is now open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with expanded parking, improved accessibility and upgraded stormwater infrastructure, alongside its longstanding hands-on learning and wildlife programs.

The milestone event highlighted the center’s long-standing mission through a full day of interpretive hikes, live animal programs, hands-on activities and music, offering opportunities for visitors to reconnect with the outdoors and with the Shaver’s Creek community.

While the anniversary event marked a significant milestone, celebrations will continue throughout the year with additional opportunities for the community to engage with the center and its programs.
