UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Center for Nursing Research in the Ross and Carol Nese College of Nursing has announced its Seminar Series for the spring 2025 semester. This five-part series is designed to advance nursing research by fostering collaboration between researchers and clinicians to bridge the gap between research and practice.
Seminars are free and hosted virtually from noon to 1 p.m. The series offers participants the chance to explore ongoing research initiatives, expand evidence-based knowledge, and contribute to the development of clinical best practices and interventions aimed at improving patient outcomes.

Feb. 6 — Secondary Data: Sources and Applications
Presented by Diane Berish, associate teaching professor, Ross and Carol Nese College of Nursing.
Feb: 20 — Introduction to Ecological Momentary Assessment (EMA): A Tool for Advancing Cognitive Research and Broader Research Contexts
Presented by Rinanda Shaleha, doctoral candidate, Human Development and Family Studies/Center for Healthy Aging.
March 6 — Mediation Analysis
Presented by Ashley Kuzmik, associate director for health services research, Alzheimer’s Association.
March 27 — Climate Change and Health Research: Why it Matters
Presented by Erica Husser, assistant research professor, Ross and Carol Nese College of Nursing.
April 10 — The Project Talk Trial: Implementation Science in Critical Care
Presented by Lauren Van Scoy, professor of medicine, humanities and public health sciences; associate director, Penn State Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI); director, CTSI KL2 Program; director, The Project Talk Trial and Communication Lab.
The Ross and Carol Nese College of Nursing’s Center for Nursing Research provides an organized infrastructure to support research faculty and their interdisciplinary teams throughout the various stages of their projects, from preparing proposals and obtaining funding to disseminating results in peer-reviewed journals and at national and international conferences. With interdisciplinary collaboration being the hallmark of the college’s approach to research, interested researchers are invited to be part of the seminar series.
