UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State's Panorama learning analytics platform received the 2026 1EdTech Learning Impact Award in the Learning Environment Infrastructure category at the organization's annual conference in June in San Francisco.
Panorama is a centralized data and insights platform that helps instructional designers, accessibility professionals and IT service managers better understand course design, accessibility and tool usage.
The platform was developed by the Data Empowered Learning team in collaboration with the Learning Solutions team, both part of Penn State IT.
"Since its launch in June 2025, Panorama has driven significant improvements in how Penn State supports teaching and learning," said David Horton, vice president for information technology and chief information officer. "By centralizing visibility into Canvas activity, course structures, learning tool usage, and digital accessibility, Panorama empowers our instructional designers to make informed decisions that enhance teaching quality, ensure compliance, and promote operational efficiency. I'm grateful to our IT professionals who worked tirelessly to harness data that makes this platform a valuable resource for our University."
The awards are based on presentations to a panel of education technology professionals and a vote from the 1EdTech community.
This year's award marks Penn State's second recognition from 1EdTech for learning analytics innovation, which highlights the University's continued leadership in learning analytics. The teams previously received the 2023 Learning Impact Award for the Course Insights tool.
