12:05 PM - 1:15 PM / November 20, 2025
Priya Kumar, PNC Technologies Career Development Professor, will present “Partnering With Youth in Technology and Research." The lecture is part of the IST Research Talks series presented by the College of Information Sciences and Technology.
From online games to Chromebooks to AI chatbots, computing technologies touch nearly every facet of children’s lives. Over the past decade, Kumar has used a variety of research methods — including interviews, co-design, and participatory action research — to work with children and explore how they navigate the digital environment. In this talk, she’ll explain why youth voices need to be included in technology scholarship and offer suggestions to researchers who are interested in working with youth.
