McKEESPORT, Pa. — The Penn State Extension office in Allegheny County has relocated to the Penn State Greater Allegheny campus in McKeesport from its previous location in the Franco Harris Pittsburgh Center at the Energy Innovation Center in Pittsburgh.
“The relocation of our Allegheny County Extension office marks an exciting new chapter in our commitment to serving the community. This move not only expands our reach to more residents across the county but also strengthens opportunities for engagement with Penn State faculty, staff and students,” said Cheyenne Filous, Penn State Extension client relationship manager. “By deepening these connections, we’re better positioned to deliver impactful education, resources and support that advance our mission of fostering healthy families, thriving communities and sustainable practices.”
Penn State Extension’s new Allegheny County office is located on the first floor of Main Building. The public can access the office by parking in Red Lot off University Drive, across from the Student Community Center. There is also accessible parking in front of the Main Building.
Extension and campus leaders are inviting the public to attend an open house from 4 to 6 p.m. on Oct. 14 to see the new location and learn more about extension programming.
“We’re thrilled to welcome the community to our new Allegheny County Extension office during our open house,” says Filous. “This is a wonderful opportunity to explore our new space, meet our dedicated educators and staff, and celebrate the expanded possibilities this location brings. We look forward to connecting with residents, partners, and supporters as we continue to grow our impact across the county.”
In support of Penn State's land-grant mission, Penn State Extension programs promote a vibrant food and fiber system, a clean environment and a healthier population in Pennsylvania and beyond. With support from federal, state and county governments, the organization has brought unbiased, science-based information and solutions to the people, businesses and communities of Pennsylvania for more than 100 years.
