McKEESPORT, Pa. — Each year, GivingTuesday provides an opportunity for the Penn State community to invest directly in student success. On Dec. 2, Penn State Greater Allegheny is participating in the international day of philanthropy, and invites employees, alumni, and friends in supporting “The Penn State Fund at Penn State Greater Allegheny," a flexible source of support that allows the University to respond quickly to emerging needs, unexpected challenges and new opportunities for students.
Unlike most gifts to the University, which are directed toward specific programs or scholarships, contributions to the Penn State Fund provide unrestricted resources that can be used where they are needed most. At Greater Allegheny campus, these funds help ensure that students can pursue their degrees with confidence, regardless of personal or financial obstacles.
Each year, support from the fund is used for a wide range of priorities, including:
- Emergency student assistance that helps ensure financial challenges do not interrupt academic progress
- Student and community programming that builds leadership, connection and engagement
- Campus and career readiness initiatives that strengthen professional skills and open new pathways for growth
- Technology upgrades and learning enhancements that keep students at the forefront of innovation
These flexible resources allow the campus to uphold its commitment to transformative education, supporting not only individual learners, but also the families and communities they will go on to serve.
Gifts of any size contribute to the campus’s ability to meet immediate needs, enhance student programming and prepare students for future success. Supporters may make a gift through the campus’s GivingTuesday platform.
Individuals interested in creating an ongoing impact through annual or endowed scholarships may contact the Development and Alumni Relations Office at 412-675-9180.
Gifts during GivingTuesday advance the University’s historic land-grant mission to serve andlead. Through philanthropy, alumni and friends are helping students to join the Penn State family and prepare for lifelong success; driving research, outreach and economic development that grow our shared strength and readiness for the future; and increasing the University’s impact for families, patients and communities across the commonwealth and around the world.
