Note: As employees think about their benefits elections for 2027, Penn State News is publishing a series of stories designed to help employees make informed choices.
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Eligible Penn State employees and their families can potentially save hundreds of dollars each year on prescription drug costs through Scripta, a free, optional benefit available to non-technical service employees and their dependents enrolled in a Penn State health care plan.
Once enrolled in one of Penn State’s three health care plans, employees are automatically eligible to use this free service, which reviews recent prescriptions and compiles a personalized savings report with suggestions on how to save money. Opportunities to save include using coupons, changing pharmacies, or switching to a generic or proven alternative with a doctor’s approval.
Penn State Human Resources is holding a series of informational webinars over the coming weeks, highlighting the range of benefits available to faculty and staff heading into the 2027 Benefits Open Enrollment period. To learn more about Scripta, access the Zoom link for webinars at 11 a.m. to noon on Oct. 20 or 11 a.m. to noon on Nov. 6 by visiting the presentation and webinars page on the 2027 Benefits Open Enrollment website.
To get started using Scripta, download the app at no cost from the Apple App or Google Play stores. The personalized savings reports can also be viewed and printed out at members.scriptainsights.com.
More information about Scripta, including frequently asked questions (FAQs), can be found on the Penn State HR website.
