College of Health and Human Development names summer 2025 college marshal

Jack Burns, son of Dawn and Leo Burns of Glen Mills, Pennsylvania, will serve as the college marshal for the College of Health and Human Development at Penn State’s summer 2025 commencement ceremony on Saturday, Aug. 16.

Burns will graduate with a bachelor’s degree in biobehavioral health. He was a member of the Phi Beta Lambda Business Fraternity, serving as the chair of the diversity, equity, and inclusion committee. He was also the medical supplies captain for THON 2025, coordinating the distribution of medical supplies for the annual 46-hour dance marathon that benefits Four Diamonds at Penn State Health Children’s Hospital.

After graduation, Burns plans to attend physicians assistant school in preparation for a career in orthopedic surgery.
