MIDDLETOWN, Pa. — The Kulkarni Cultural Series will present “Barron Ryan Trio – There Arises Light (in the Darkness)” at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 11 in the Mukund S. Kulkarni Theatre.

Pianist and Tulsa native Barron Ryan, named one of Smithsonian Magazine’s “10 Innovators to Watch,” will perform accompanied by cello and violin. Ryan will take the audience on a journey of struggle, discovery and triumph, featuring pieces from the classical canon as well as Ryan’s original composition “There Arises Light (in the Darkness),” a moving tribute to resilience and hope, commemorating the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre.

Barron will hold a post-concert discussion with the audience.

The concert is free for Penn State Harrisburg students, who should claim their ticket on Engage/Corq.

Anyone who is not a Penn State Harrisburg student has the option to “choose your own price” for tickets.
