Harrisburg LaunchBox, Rotary Veterans Initiative partner for business bootcamp

Participants in the Veterans Business Bootcamp will learn about key areas of building a business and have the chance to pitch their startup ideas

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. — The Harrisburg LaunchBox, housed under the Lambert Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Penn State Harrisburg, has partnered with the Rotary Veterans Initiative to host a six-week, veteran-focused business bootcamp, beginning in October.

Applications are open now through Oct. 5. The bootcamp is open to veterans or current U.S. military members. Full eligibility details can be found on the LaunchBox website.

Participants in the Veterans Business Bootcamp will learn about key areas of building a successful business, such as customer discovery; product-market fit; competitive analysis and positioning; marketing and sales; and building a strategic plan.

The bootcamp ends with a final pitch competition, where participants will have the opportunity to pitch their business ideas and compete for up to $4,000 in funding to support their startup idea.

The program aims to support regional entrepreneurship among veterans, an underrepresented group among entrepreneurs.

The bootcamp will be held virtually on Thursday evenings, Oct. 8-29. The final pitch competition will be held in-person Nov. 12 at Penn State Harrisburg.
