MALVERN, Pa. — Penn State Great Valley alumnus Troy A. Beane, founder and CEO of Veteran Executive Leadership, will address graduates at the Great Valley commencement ceremony on May 8.
A 2017 graduate of Great Valley’s Master of Leadership Development program, Beane served in the United States Air Force and United States Army for 21 years and retired from the Pennsylvania National Guard as a Major. As an Infantry Company Commander during a 2009 combat deployment, he earned the Bronze Star for meritorious service.
During his military career, Beane developed his leadership skills and responsibility as a commanding officer. He transferred these lessons and experiences into a civilian career as a management consultant and later minority owner and COO for Greencastle Associates Consulting, an all-veteran management consulting firm to Fortune 500 companies. Beane’s leadership was pivotal in Greencastle’s growth, which led the firm to receive the Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award in 2018 — the highest recognition for employers supporting National Guard and Reserve members.
In 2022, Beane left Greencastle to start his own business, Veteran Executive Leadership, whose mission is to empower veterans to acquire, operate and grow meaningful businesses and to provide business owners with a trustworthy succession plan.
The Philadelphia Business Journal honored Beane with a 2023 Veterans in Business award, recognizing his significant impact on the Greater Philadelphia business community. Penn State Great Valley named him one of its Diamonds of the Decades honorees in 2024, celebrating members of the campus community who have achieved notable success and made lasting impacts.
