MALVERN, Pa. — Penn State Great Valley invites students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members to share their vision of the Chester County region by entering a photography contest titled “Penn State Great Valley: Through the Lens.” Winning photographs will be selected for display as part of Great Valley’s permanent art collection, enriching the campus with images that celebrate creativity and inspire pride in Penn State and the local community.

“This contest is more than a competition,” said Becky Stanko, Great Valley’s community engagement specialist. “It’s an opportunity to leave a lasting mark on our campus, showcase your talent, and help shape the visual identity of Penn State Great Valley.”

Participants may submit up to three original photographs in one or more contest themes:

  • Our Valley, Our Vision: Images highlighting the essence of Penn State Great Valley and/or Chester County
  • Penn State Pride: Images captured on campus or out in the world that showcase Penn State pride
  • From Philly to the Valley: Images highlighting the connection between Philadelphia and Great Valley

Submissions may be in horizontal or vertical orientation and may include anything from abstract and creative perspectives to local landmarks, highlighting the beauty, diversity and spirit of southeastern Pennsylvania and the Penn State community.

Image submissions are due by 11:59 p.m. on April 30. Participants must submit only photos they have taken themselves that they own and that they agree to grant Penn State a royalty-free, perpetual license to display and redistribute on Penn State property, as well as through the University’s communications channels and social media platforms. Each photo should include a title, as well as a brief caption describing the image and how it relates to the selected theme.
