UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State Global will hold its annual Education Abroad Fair from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 22 in Alumni Hall, HUB-Robeson Center at University Park. No pre-event signups required.

What is the Education Abroad Fair?

Penn State Global hosts an annual Education Abroad Fair to showcase over 300 global learning opportunities available to Penn State students in over 55 countries.  Students can learn about traditional study abroad, global internship programs, and internation research options.

Choosing the right time and academic experience is key to student success.  Education abroad opportunities are available in fall, spring, and summer terms as well as during semester breaks through the portfolio of embedded courses.

Penn State Education Abroad staff, Penn State faculty, program alumni and international host institutions will host exhibitor tables at the fair to provide information and resources, and answer student questions.

“We look forward to welcoming hundreds — if not thousands — of students to our Education Abroad Fair.  We are seeing an unprecedented level of interest in study abroad, likely because students and their families understand the value of such experiences and the impact on career readiness.  The annual Education Abroad Fair is just one way to learn about our program offerings and connect with our network of study abroad partners around the world,” said Kate Manni, director of Education Abroad.

Education Abroad at Penn State

Studying abroad is open to Penn State students in every major and at every campus location.  With education abroad program options ranging from one week abroad to an entire year, there is truly an opportunity to fit with each student’s academic and personal circumstances.

In academic year 2024-2025, nearly 2,700 Penn State students studied abroad — a near record-high enrollment. Penn State Global expects continued growth in student participation during the current year, as scholarship funding and student support services continue to increase to meet student demand.

Scholarships for Study Abroad

Five students who attend the 2025 Education Abroad Fair will be chosen at random to win a $500 scholarship that can be used at any time during their Penn State academic career.

At the Education Abroad Fair, representatives from Penn State Student Aid, Penn State Global, and Penn State academic colleges can all share information on scholarships and grants available for study abroad.  Both merit-based and financial need-based funding is available.

Students who receive a Pell Grant to attend Penn State are guaranteed a study abroad scholarship from Penn State Global. For more information, visit the study abroad scholarships section of the Penn State Global website.
