Fox Graduate School names Montero recruitment and engagement assistant director

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Audreé Montero has joined the the Penn State J. Jeffrey and Ann Marie Fox Graduate School's Office of Graduate Educational Engagement Programs (OGEEP) as assistant director for graduate student outreach, recruitment and engagement, effective Nov. 20, 2025.

In this role, Montero leads strategic initiatives to broaden access to graduate education and strengthen pathways for students from diverse backgrounds. She coordinates outreach and recruitment strategies, manage signature programs such as the Fox Graduate School Open House and the Big Ten Academic Alliance Summer Research Opportunities Program (SROP), and support other University events and programming designed to engage prospective graduate students. These efforts align with Penn State’s land-grant mission to expand educational opportunities and foster graduate enrollment.

“This position is essential to advancing the Fox Graduate School’s commitment to inclusive excellence,” said Stephanie Danette Preston, associate dean for graduate educational engagement and chief diversity officer for graduate education. “By strengthening outreach and engagement, we ensure that students from all backgrounds have access to graduate education and the resources they need to succeed.”

Montero brings a strong foundation in student engagement and program coordination, having served as a graduate assistant in OGEEP and as co-director for Penn State’s SROP. She earned& a master’s degree in human resources and employment relations from Penn State in May 2025 and holds a bachelor’s degree in human development and family studies from the University.

“As a recent Penn State master’s graduate, I’m excited to help prospective students understand what the graduate school experience is like and how it can open doors to new opportunities,” Montero said. “I look forward to supporting programs that make graduate education accessible and welcoming.”
