UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Office of Educational Equity has launched a new Learning and Professional Development portfolio designed to help translate Penn State’s values — integrity, respect, responsibility, discovery, excellence and community — into everyday practice. The portfolio features inclusive, practical and engaging workshops that strengthen skills in mentoring, communication, community-building and more.
“Professional development is most effective when rooted in specific strategies that people can practice using," said Leslie Pearson, learning and professional development specialist. "These offerings are built to be relevant and applicable, featuring scenario-based learning and action planning so participants can leave with tools that they can use right away,”
This fall’s sessions invite participants to practice skills through discussions and guided practice. In addition to scheduled sessions, departments and units may also request customized sessions.
