UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State Human Resources has announced a schedule of professional development programs for spring 2025. Opportunities are available to staff and faculty for free via Zoom and range from growing leaderships skills to maintaining health and wellness. Penn State’s Leadership Foundations program features six series designed to develop leadership skills across various career paths. Additional opportunities are available for leadership coaching and assessments. More information on these programs is available on the course webpages or through an inquiry to HR, and information on instructor-led programming can be found on the Individual Development Programs page.
University-wide Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are available for those interested in meeting with other Penn Staters to share resources and create connections. Penn State currently has four ERGs available: Rainbow Roar, for LGBTQ+ community members and allies; Vet-aLIONce, for servicemembers, veterans, military spouses, and allies; SustainaLions, for employees interested in sustainability issues; and Penn State Cares, for employees who are also caregivers, and their allies.
Any employee interested in joining these ERGs can reach out to the individual ERGs via the email provided on the ERG webpages. Anyone interested in forming a new ERG can email ergs@psu.edu for additional information.
Penn State HR also offers programs focused on enhancing team effectiveness through tools such as CliftonStrengths; DiSC; Change Style Indicator; and Social Styles. These programs are available through an HR inquiry.
