UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — "Mentorship Matters" workshops will begin soon, offering faculty essential tools and skills to effectively mentor undergraduates, graduate students and postdoctoral scholars.

Registration is open now through the Center for Faculty Development and Advancement. Spring and fall workshops will be in-person at the University Park campus and online via Zoom to provide flexibility. Early registration is recommended as space is limited.

Based on curriculum from the Center for Mentored Experiences in Research , Mentorship Matters workshop curriculum will include the core competencies of aligning expectations, assessing understanding and creating safe, respectful research environments. While the workshop will focus on mentoring students and postdocs, the knowledge and competencies shared are applicable to a broader audience, including the mentorship of faculty.

In spring 2025, participants who have successfully completed the training may take the "Train the Mentorship Matters Workshop Leader" to learn how to deliver the Mentorship Matters workshop in the future.
