UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Faculty, staff and technical service employees across the University are encouraged to show their school spirit by wearing or displaying blue and white on “Penn State Fridays” starting on Oct. 10.
“Whether you wear blue-and-white clothing to the classroom, office, lab or work site, or attend a Zoom meeting in front of a digital University-themed background, you are encouraged to express your ‘We Are!’ spirit by putting a Penn State spin on the traditional ‘casual Friday,” said Jennifer Wilkes, vice president for HR and chief human resources officer. “The collective participation of employees across Penn State is a reflection of who we are and a nod to the tradition that connects us, no matter what we do or where we're located.”
Employees are encouraged to share pictures of their individual or group participation in Penn State Fridays. Submitted photos may be considered for publication on official University news, social media and other platforms.
“I look forward to seeing and highlighting the many ways that blue-and-white pride manifests across the University,” Wilkes said.
Ways to participate throughout the year
Wear Penn State gear or blue-and-white clothing: Participating employees should dress in a manner that is appropriate for their duties and the expectations of their individual unit. Employees should consider their interactions with students, alumni, donors, volunteers, vendors and others as part of their decision making, and should consult their supervisor or unit leader for additional guidance.
Download digital assets: Employees can download and display a variety of digital assets, including Penn State-themed Zoom backgrounds and desktop and mobile wallpapers.
